Spring Style Files

It’s time to blow away those winter blues and hit refresh on your wardrobe. Blossoms on the trees, milder temperatures, lighter nights – Spring is definitely in the air!  We’re in the mood for bold prints and colors, sharp details, and capturing your special moments at their best.  With that in mind we’ve compiled some handy tips, gleaned from years of helping families like yours, to guide you on how to choose your outfits for a timeless, beautiful, and natural family portrait session.

When mixing neutrals, try working in a texture to give your look some dimension. Add a pop of color with an accessory, like a statement bracelet or fun flats, to bring the rest of your family's look together.

Don’t be afraid of patterns. Build a palette from a favorite print or pattern. When working with patterns, like florals, make sure it's the right color palette for your skin. Patterns are a great way to layer in a few colors into your family's look.

Work around your colors personality and body type. High-Low styling is a great way to look pulled together yet relaxed. Pairing a classic black sweater (high) with a pair of distressed jeans (low) is a great combination.

When incorporating jewelry into your photo shoot, wear pieces that have meaning, tie the looks together or bring a pop of sparkle where needed.

Don't forget the importance of a great pair of shoes for your photo shoot! Using color or a pattern in your shoe can be fun and add a visual pop to your images without overpowering them.
